KAJ of Paramus (KAJP) was founded in 1978 by a few families that moved from New York City and a few residents already living in Paramus. The nursery school began as a branch of Yeshiva Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsch and is now independently run as the Congregation KAJ of Paramus Preschool Program.

KAJP has daily morning & evening minyanim and a variety of weekly shiurim on a regular basis. Some of our members learn b'Chavrusa in the shul in the evenings. Our members participate in tzedakah campaigns throughout the year. Over the years we have hosted individuals in need of accommodations nearby to hospitals and temporary work locations. Our members supported the construction of the Paramus Eruv by our sister synagogue in Paramus (Congregation Beth Tefillah) and several of our members actively check the Eruv weekly. A new GREEN light has been installed in front of the building for easy drive-by notification that the Eruv is acceptable for Shabbos & Yom Tov.

The Mikvah of Paramus was completed for Pesach 5765 (April 2005). Please call 201-967-9894 for an appointment.

Paramus is a lovely suburban community. We are located in the heart of Bergen County with low taxes, easy commute to NYC and access to shopping & community services superior to neighboring towns. If you are interested in relocating, we can direct you to real estate agents that have been particularly helpful to our newest residents. Contact us if you'd like to come out for a day or if you'd like to spend a Shabbos.
